Thank you to the County of Lake, the Cities of Clearlake and Lakeport, CalRecycle and local individuals, businesses and service providers for contributing to the establishment of the new and improved Lake County Economic Development Corporation website.

On Monday, July 23, the Lake County EDC, a 501 c 3 nonprofit, launched www.lakecountycaedc.org, an economic development website devoted to supporting the business community of Lake County through information, research and training, and to serve as a primary resource for business recruitment, expansion and retention.

The website provides data including, but not limited to, economic indicators, business resources, commercial site availability, new business startup guides, demographics and key industries. Links to local resources and business associations are included.

The website serves as an online nexus for business opportunities and workforce development within Lake County. Whether a new business is looking to relocate to the area or an existing business is ready to grow and expand, www.lakecountycaedc.org  provides the necessary information to propel each business to success.

The Lake County EDC provides no-cost business services throughout Lake County and has worked with hundreds of businesses and entrepreneurs since its incorporation in 1983 helping to facilitate the creation and retention of over 330 jobs. Services include access to capital, business planning, and marketing assistance.

• Recent Lake County EDC activity includes:

• Business assistance with several Lake County businesses.

• Outreach for state and federal assistance to businesses due to current fires.

• Disbursement of business loan funding up to $150,000.

• Facilitation of the packaging of an Economic Development Strategic Plan.

• Collaboration with the County of Lake and Cities of Clearlake and Lakeport regarding business retention, expansion, and attraction.

And, in an effort to alleviate affordable housing needs in Lake County, the Lake County EDC is currently engaged with federal and local stakeholders to coordinate several housing fairs around the county. The goal of the fairs is to expedite home ownership in Lake County by aligning home buyers with home builders, lenders, and realtors. The next housing fair is scheduled for Friday, September 7 at 9:30 a.m. at the Black Rock Golf Course located at 16451 Golf Rd., Cobb.
